I want to take a moment to tell you a couple of stories about how RASTRAC® helped our company.
In June 2001 we received a radio call from a driver and all he could say was my hand is pinned underneath the tow truck. He was working an AAA call in the Lake Oswego hills that had been dispatched by Portland AAA. I had no idea where he was but a simple click of the mouse on the RASTRAC® button at the bottom of my screen told me where he was and which truck was closest to him. I was able to call 911 and give them his location. This all happened within several minutes and was faster than trying to contact AAA dispatch and find out what call he was working.
The other instance was a driver who reported that he lived in South Salem. We hired him and the next night I was in the office late working on paperwork and looked on the RASTRAC® to see where my trucks were and noticed my truck was in Sweet Home. I recorded the information and it showed the truck was in Sweet Home until 8:00 am the next day when it started moving toward Salem. It turned out he lived in Sweet Home and that helped me eliminate a problem I would not have known about until I received the next month's fuel bill.
I have received exemplary service from Springfield Radio, especially John and Bart, in setting up the truck and monitoring problems with the system. It was not the cheapest system to install but the advantages of the program have outweighed the costs.
