Dear Tony,After having your system in operation for a year, I would like to take a moment of your time to let you know how pleased we are with your RASTRAC® system. As a petroleum marketer we feel it is very important to know where our tanker trucks are at all times, both for security reasons and for efficiencies of operation
With the increase threat of terrorist activity directed toward hazardous materials transporters, it is nice to know where our trucks are at any given time. The USDOT inspector was very impressed with the capabilities of the system.
We reviewing several cell phone based systems, before we decided to use your software in conjunction with Kenwood voice/data radios supplied by Slater Communications here in Salem. The low cost of maintenance and the versatility of the software and equipment were the deciding factors for choosing RASTRAC®.
Cost recovery for the initial investment has been much quicker than we expected. We generate weekly reports from the data using Access and compare them to the drivers time cards, load times and unload times. This has resulted in more efficient scheduling of pickups and deliveries. In addition accountability for our drivers hours and overtime has greatly improved. Since time and location is verifiable to our drivers are more accurate in recording their work time, break time and lunch hours. The result has been significant savings in labor costs.
Customer service has also improved since we know where our trucks are and can quickly respond to customers requests for delivery times or if any delays are encountered.
