Dear Tony,
We have been using your RASTRAC®
GPS System since May 2004 and have been extremely pleased with the results.
Since the installation, I have been able to document an average increase in
number of service calls each day by 2 calls per day for the department. Now,
that may not sound like much, but when you figure that our average service call
is $250, that’s $500 more per day or $10,000 more per month. Based on the
increased productivity the system paid for itself in less than 2 months!
At first, some of the men thought that we were going
to use the system just to “keep an eye on them”, but they quickly realized that
it is a tool that makes them more efficient. For example, if they are on a job &
need extra help, or if they need a part that is not on their truck they call to
find out who is closest to them. That way they just get the part or help from
the closest truck to them instead of having to drive all the way to the supply
house.
Another thing they like is if they are in an area
that they are not familiar with, they call in & I am able to “walk them in” to
the location of the call.
Other areas that RASTRAC®
has benefited us are:
• Verifying Timesheets (especially after hour &
weekend calls)
• Documenting “time on job” for invoicing customers on time & material jobs
• Dispatching tow trucks to vehicles that have “broken down” or been involved in
an accident
• More accurately let customers know how soon the technician will be at their
house (they are impressed when I can tell them exactly what street & where on
that street they are on)
